Health Requirements

++Families new to Tennessee are required to have their child’s immunization records transferred to a Tennessee Certificate for any type of school enrollment. You may bring a child’s current immunization records to the county health department, take it to the child’s healthcare provider and they can file it, or submit it online. You will be contacted when the certificate is ready to be picked up at the health department and then you may submit it to the school.

If your child is entering school for the first time, for instance, if he/she is entering Pre-K or Kindergarten or entering public school from a homeschool setting, it is required to have a proof of physical within the last 12 months.

For additional information, a list of all health requirements can be found HERE.

Rutherford County has an enrollment of approximately 51,000 students and is one of the fastest growing school districts in Tennessee. The district is also touted as one of the state’s highly ranked school districts.
